For those who like the beer cold: Reliant get a second cooling unit for the big fridge. Now we can cool all this hundreds of liters of beer that we need for the next crossing trips ;-)

Maintenance
First maintenance for Reliant after 3 month sailing. On of the last mechanical parts which have not been exchanged needs to be replaced now. The shaft seal is leaky. No way to change it during the vessel stay in the water. So we go on the yard again. By the way we discover the insufficiently antifouling protection of the prop. After clean it until it looks like new again we coat it with a specially prop protection from Hempel.

E-mail from the last owner of Reliant
Hola Andreas!
I have just been looking at your website.
What an amazing job you have done! I knew there were some rust areas to be repaired, but I had no idea as to the extent. It seems you have almost rebuilt the entire vessel!
You have obviously uncovered some design flaws, and rectified them (I never understood why they had aluminium tanks, for example). Your treatment of the bilge areas is also such an improvement, and flush fitting the windows also eliminates a rust trap.
Your workmanship is absolutely superb, and so thorough. I'm sorry that there was obviously more to do than you (or I) had thought, but now you can look forward to many years of safe sailing.
Congratulations on your achievement and I wish you all the best for the future.
Best regards,
Rob
Thank you very much, Rob, for the big compliment. Few people can appreciate our work like you. I can assure you that we are still very happy with Reliant. She is a big vessel with a great shape. The work was worthwhile.
